Alexander Balashov

1948 — was born in the Nizhegorodskaya region
1963—1967 — Pedagogical College, Art Department
1968—1970 — military service of the Soviet Union
1970—1975 — Pedagogical Institute named after Gertsen, Art and Graphics Department, St. Petersburg
1976 — present — Participation in exhibitions in Tver, Murmansk, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Oslo, Norway
1979 — present — Participation in regional exhibitions in Murmansk. He had more than 20 personal exhibitions in Murmansk and the Murmansk region. Many of his paintings can be seen in the Murmansk Museum of the North Fleet and in the Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore, History and Art.

Alexander Balashov is a realist artist, whose favorite theme is northern nature. His paintings are noted for attention to detail, esteem and a love of everything he puts to canvas. The nature depicted in his work seems to come alive.
